Application Focus

The JGB series is specifically engineered for ejector guide applications in high temperature die casting, injection molding, and hot forming processes. These bearings guide ejector pins through heated platens where conventional lubricants degrade or carbonize. The brass substrate maintains dimensional stability at elevated temperatures while graphite lubricant inserts provide consistent low friction performance without external oil or grease.

Technical Support Notes
Ejector pin material recommendation
H13 tool steel hardened to 48-52 HRC with surface finish Ra 0.2-0.4 micrometers. Avoid nitrided pins as surface compounds may react with graphite.
Thermal expansion compensation
At 300°C, an 80mm guide length expands approximately 0.45mm. Design ejector stroke to accommodate this expansion without pin binding.
Cooling line proximity
Maintain minimum 10mm distance between guide bearing and mold cooling channels. Excessive cooling can reduce guide temperature below desired operating range.
Pre-Installation Check
  • Measure housing bore for roundness within 0.005mm
  • Inspect ejector pin surface for scoring or tool marks
  • Verify guide length matches ejector stroke requirements
  • Confirm housing material coefficient matches brass expansion
Maintenance Schedule
  • Inspect guide bore after 5000 ejection cycles
  • Clean graphite transfer film from pin every 10000 cycles
  • Replace guide when ID wear exceeds 0.08mm
